Curiously, the U.S. Supreme Court has “referred to the court” the injunction to stop the official counting of the Electoral College votes for Obama for President filed by former Pennsylvania Assistant Deputy Attorney General Philip Berg. It is curious because the consideration is filed for January 16th though the counting will be done on January 8th.

Berg’s “petition for certiorari” is still active in the Court as well. Berg’s lawsuit claims that Obama is not a “natural born” American citizen, as required by the Constitution, and therefore is ineligible to be President of the United States.  He has demanded that Obama show a valid birth certificate, which Obama has steadfastly refused to do, without explanation.

Berg has obtained information that indicates Obama was born in Kenya to a father who was a British subject (so claimed by his own relatives), and additionally, that Obama was later adopted by his stepfather and became an Indonesian citizen.  The Indonesian government has not denied this claim and the Kenyan government recently responded by blocking media access to Obama’s family in Kenya.

The hearing upcoming in the Supreme Court will determine whether Obama will be compelled to show proof that he is a “natural born” citizen for whether he will be able to keep his birth certificate secret as he has so far.
