Alan Keyes to Appeal Obama Eligibility Case

March 27, 2009

Lawyers for presidential candidate Alan Keyes have said they will appeal a California ruling that the secretary of state is not duty bound to check the eligibility qualifications of candidates running for President before placing them on the state ballot.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation said that such a ruling “eviscerates” the Constitution, which requires that a President be a “natural born” citizen.  As far back as 2006, Obama had a relationship with a law firm that was looking for ways to circumvent the eligibility requirement. Questions and lawsuits keep proliferating as Obama has steadfastly refused to provide his birth certificate to prove he is “natural born.” His father’s family in Kenya have claimed he was born there, but his records have been sealed. Several court cases are making their way to the U.S. Supreme Court asking that Obama’s birth certificate be brought forward.

Supreme Court & DOJ Confirm Receiving Obama Eligibility Lawsuit Challenges

March 25, 2009

The U.S. Supreme Court and the Department of Justice have confirmed that they have officially received the legal documents that challenge Obama’s eligibility to be President under the regulations of the U.S. Constitution.

For months legal challenges have been winding through the courts challenging the Obama campaign to show that he is a “natural born” citizen as required by the Constitution, Article 2, Section 1. Obama’s response was to deny access to his birth certificate, without explanation, and to hire lawyers to keep his records secret, including his college records.

These somewhat peculiar actions have caused growing speculation that Obama was born in Kenya as his father’s family has said all along. There are also questions about his citizenship because it is known his stepfather moved the family to Indonesia when Obama was a boy and changed his citizenship. Either of these, if shown in court, would make him ineligible to be President.

Chief Justice Agrees to Review Obama Eligibility

March 15, 2009

Chief Justice John Roberts

Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court John Roberts has agree to review the documents in a case filed to challenge Obama’s eligibility to serve as President of the United States! Attorney Orly Taitz, who represents nine state representatives and over 120 military officers, claims that a previous case was improperly handled by a clerk of the Supreme Court.

According to Taitz, certain documents pertaining to the case were not given to the justices and postings on the official Supreme Court docket were removed the day after consideration.

Justice Antonin Scalia

Days previous, when she questioned Justice Antonin Scalia about this, he seemed not to know about any of the cases that were brought before the Court for consideration. He said that the Court needed four votes to consider a case, and if she could get four votes, he’d hear the case.

Taitz believes the clerk did not submit the cases to the justices or he simply provided a summary that did not show them in a good light, resulting in their dismissal without adequate review.

Attorney Taitz also provided Chief Justice Roberts with a WND petition signed by over 325,000 Americans demanding that Obama’s eligibility to be President be verified by the release of his original birth certificate, which Obama has steadfastly refused to do. Obama’s response to this point has been to seal all of his records and hire lawyers to keep his records secret.  It appears only the Supreme Court will be able to compel Obama to provide the birth certificate he has so long keep hidden.

Was Obama Born in the USA?

March 11, 2009

Questions and lawsuits continue to be raised regarding Obama’s eligibility to be President of the United States. Most of these center around the Constitutional requirement that the President be a “natural born” citizen and Obama’s steadfast refusal to produce his original birth certificate, something that has been requested of him since before the election. This link has a good article that sums up much of this:

So far the courts have refused to hear a case regarding the birth certificate controversy, but none has ruled against the cases that have been brought. Cases have been refused because of “lack of standing” or other technicalities. However, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Scalia has recently indicated that he would like to hear the case on eligibility, but so far no case has had four justices agree to hear it as is required at the Supreme Court.

Hopefully one of the many cases winding through the court system will finally get the required four votes to allow it to be heard by the Supreme Court. Since Obama has absolutely refused the simple request to produce a valid birth certificate, perhaps the Court can compel him to comply. Then the American public might finally discover where he was born since he has taken legal action to seal all of his records from public view.

U.S. Soldier Silenced for Questioning Obama’s Eligibility to Be President

March 4, 2009

A U.S. military soldier who added his name on a legal demand questioning Obama’s eligibility to be President has been ordered by his commanding officers not to talk to the media. The soldier’s name has been withheld pending further action against him.

The soldier is one of about 100 who have joined a legal challenge demanding that Obama show proof of eligibility to be President under the Constitution, Article 2, Section1, which requires a president to be a “natural born” citizen. Controversy has swirled for months since Obama refused to release his official birth certificate and has had his records sealed.

It has been impossible to determine Obama’s eligibility because of conflicting information about his birth. His campaign claims he was born in Hawaii, but his own relatives say he was born in Kenya and was, therefore, a British subject as was his father.

Others claim that since his stepfather took the family to Indonesia when he was a boy, where he then became an Indonesian citizen, it doesn’t matter where he was born because he is not an American citizen. The truth may be slow in coming, however, as Obama has hired lawyers to keep his records secret from the public.
